Getting Paid in Affiliate Online Marketing
Getting paid handsomely in affiliate internet marketing depends on making good sense decisions that build a passive income of many dollars. Be aware, though. “Passive” income does involve work, though not as much as it might seem. Most affiliates are paid a commission, based on sending qualified buyers who purchase an online merchant’s goods and services.
The beauty of earning money online with affiliate marketing is that is it relatively quick and easy. Just sign up to be an affiliate with an online merchant that offers affiliate programs. You don’t even have to have a website.
You can join Gather.com, HubPages.com or Squidoo.com and put content a webpage on their sites. You can choose one of the three main ways to earn a commission: pay-per-click (PPC), pay-per-sale (PPS), or pay-per-lead (PPL).
In pay-per-click affiliate marketing, you get paid whenever you send a person to a merchant’s website. That person does not have to buy anything. Two other ways to get paid is when the visitor takes a defined action, such as buying a product (pay-per-sale) or filling out a form (pay-per-lead) for more information.
Pay-per-sale can compensate you anywhere from 2% to 20% of the product sale, depending on the merchant. So, make sure to evaluate the amount of commission when selecting a merchant. For example, there are many jewelry merchants who will pay commissions. All things being equal, including brand name and product quality, choose the merchant with the higher commission.
In pay-per-lead programs, a visitor completes an online form, to request a quote or be contacted. Loans, insurance, credit cards and mortgages are prime examples of pay-per-lead. Depending on the industry, you can earn high commissions for referring a lead to a mortgage company, for example.
Don’t forget about recruiting customers to recurring membership sites, like dating. You can get paid a percentage of the membership fee for each month the person belongs to that site.
Take your time and investigate all the different option you have in affiliate internet marketing and get started. You can always add more programs when the commissions start rolling in.
